Their payslip changed. Find the lines that explain it.
Bonus, overtime, absence: compare the lines of two Silae payslips from Claude or ChatGPT and identify what explains the difference.
Published on October 28, 2026
In short
- With Silae connected through Persyst, your assistant compares an employee’s payslip lines across two months.
- It separates the amounts it reads from explanations that need confirmation; payroll approval stays with you.
- Access is set per payroll file and per tool. The connector is read-only.
In the Company A payroll file, compare employee 0042’s September and October payslips. Which lines explain the gross pay difference?
Gross pay falls from €3,000 to €2,950, a €50 decrease. Base salary stays at €2,800. The €200 bonus present in September disappears in October, while a €150 overtime line appears. Together, these changes explain the difference: −€200 + €150 = −€50. The payslips alone do not say why the bonus was not renewed.

Two payslips, one precise question
“Why did my salary go down?” Answering means finding the right employee, both payslips and the lines that moved. A smaller bonus can mask an increase in overtime: the total alone does not tell the whole story.
With Persyst’s Silae connector, ask from Claude or ChatGPT and specify the payroll file, employee, both months and the amount to explain: gross pay, net pay or a specific line.
What changed, line by line
In this fictional example, employee 0042’s payslips show:
| Line | September | October | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base salary | €2,800 | €2,800 | €0 |
| Bonus | €200 | €0 | −€200 |
| Overtime | €0 | €150 | +€150 |
| Total gross pay | €3,000 | €2,950 | −€50 |
The assistant can show which lines explain the €50 decrease. The payslip alone does not tell it why a bonus was removed, or whether its absence is justified.
How the assistant finds both payslips
- It identifies the payroll file among those you can access, then searches for the employee by name or employee number for the relevant months.
- It finds the employment and each month’s payslips with
list_silae_records. If there are multiple employments or payslips, it must specify which ones it compares. - It reads the relevant headers and lines with
read_silae_payroll, then matches the lines and their amounts. - It presents the differences, the months consulted and what still needs checking. It must flag a missing payslip or denied access.
Lists and payslip reads must be authorized on the same payroll file. The administrator sets these rights in Persyst (Silae setup).
Three requests to try
- “Compare September and October for employee 0042: separate unchanged, added and removed lines.”
- “Show only bonus and overtime lines on these two payslips.”
- “What information are you missing to explain the net pay difference?”
For a review of an entire payroll file, continue with this month’s payroll review. This comparison focuses on one employee’s payslips; approval and corrections stay with the payroll manager.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to export the payslips before comparing them?
No. With the required access, the assistant reads both payslips’ lines in Silae through Persyst. You do not need to copy them into the conversation.
Can I compare net pay instead of gross pay?
You can ask for it. The assistant must check the available amounts, contributions and other relevant lines before drawing a conclusion. A gross pay change alone does not explain a net pay change; it must flag missing information.
Can a payroll manager access the firm’s other payroll files?
Only the files granted to them in Persyst, with the tools authorized for each file. Connecting Silae does not automatically give the whole team access to payslips.
Can the assistant correct the payslip?
No. The Silae connector is read-only. The assistant helps explain the lines; the payroll manager checks the explanation and makes any correction in Silae.
