In short

  • Nothing to install: Persyst is a remote MCP server. Google’s MCP server runs on each machine, with a Google Cloud project.
  • Read-only: the connection only holds the analytics.readonly scope. It cannot change a property, a data stream, an event or an audience.
  • A GA4 property is opened to a team, a client or a person; any other property stays invisible to their AI.
  • The data is the Google Analytics Data API’s: the assistant is told when Google applies thresholds, samples, or when the last 48 hours are not final.

EXAMPLES

What your team can ask

Which channels pulled conversions down this month compared to last month?

The drop comes mostly from Paid Social: 212 key events versus 341 (-38%), with sessions nearly flat. Organic Search is up 9%. The last two days are not final yet at Google and are left out of the comparison.

HOW IT WORKS

Google Analytics in your AI, in three steps

  1. Connect the property

Under Data sources, an administrator picks Google Analytics and signs in with a Google account that has access to the GA4 properties. Persyst only requests the read-only scope. The account’s properties are listed; the administrator selects which ones to share.

A member can also connect their own Google account under My connectors, to query their own properties without sharing them.

  2. Open access

Each property is granted to a team, a client or a person, with the list of allowed tools. A member without access does not see the property in their assistant. Grants can be changed at any time and apply on the next call.

  3. Ask from the assistant

The member asks their question in ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot. The assistant calls Persyst’s Google Analytics tools, which check the rights, query Google’s API and return the results. The history keeps who used which tool, and when.

  • Dimensions and metrics available on the property, custom dimensions and metrics included.

Rights and audit trail

  • Rights per person, team or client.

Then, inside the tool, only the items you open. The rest does not exist for the AI.

  • One-click revocation.

Removing a member cuts their access in every AI at once.

  • A history.

Who used which tool, and when.

  • Credentials that stay put.

They remain encrypted in Persyst, never in the assistants.

What this connector does not do

  • No writes: no property, data stream, key event or audience created or changed.
  • No explorations (funnels, path analysis, cohorts): standard reports and realtime only.
  • No Universal Analytics, and no raw data from the BigQuery export.
  • No Search Console or Google Ads data: each source has its own connector.
  • 500 rows per call at most; beyond that, the assistant pages through.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is there an official MCP server for Google Analytics?

Yes. Google publishes an open-source MCP server for Google Analytics that runs locally: it needs Python, a Google Cloud project with the Analytics APIs enabled and Google Cloud credentials on each machine. Persyst is a remote server: the company connects an account once, opens each property to whoever it chooses and keeps the call history.

Do I have to give every member access to the Google Analytics property?

No. Someone with access to the property connects their Google account once in Persyst. The members you authorize then read reports from their AI, without being added as users in Google Analytics.

Can an agency use it for a single client?

Yes. You open that client’s GA4 property to the agency, and only that one. The organization’s other properties do not appear in their assistant. Removing their access takes one click.

Why can figures differ from the Google Analytics interface?

For the same reasons as in Google Analytics: thresholds on low volumes, sampling on some queries, and data from the last 24 to 48 hours that is not final yet. Persyst passes these signals to the assistant so it flags them instead of reporting a decline.

Can the assistant read conversions and custom dimensions?

Yes. It reads the key events configured on the property and the custom dimensions and metrics. If a conversion is not set up as a key event, it says so instead of inferring it from another event.

How do I use it from ChatGPT or Claude?

Each member adds Persyst as an MCP server in their assistant and authorizes it once. The Google Analytics tools they are entitled to then appear in their conversations, next to their other Persyst tools.
