App Store Connect
Create a team API key, plug it into Persyst and choose the apps whose reviews are read.
The connection uses an App Store Connect team API key: an Issuer ID, a Key ID and a .p8 file. Persyst reads reviews and developer responses; it publishes nothing and changes nothing in App Store Connect.
Create the key in App Store Connect
To be done by the developer Account Holder or an Admin.
- Open App Store Connect, then Users and Access › Integrations › App Store Connect API. The first time, the Account Holder must request API access.
- Under Team Keys, create a key named for example
Persyst, with the Customer Support role: it can see reviews, a broader role is not needed. - Note the Issuer ID shown above the list and the key’s Key ID.
- Download the
AuthKey_<KEY ID>.p8file. Apple only lets you download it once: hand it over through a secure channel.
Plug in the key and choose the apps
- In Data sources → Add a source, choose the scope, then App Store Connect.
- Enter a name, the Issuer ID, the Key ID, upload the
.p8file, then click Connect. Persyst checks the key with Apple before saving it. - In Apps, click Add an app and tick the apps whose reviews should be read.
- In Access management, grant the apps and their tools to the relevant teams or members.
The import covers the full review history. New reviews are read every 6 hours, and the full history every week to catch responses published in the meantime. Resync starts a full import again.
A team key gives access to every app of the developer account; Persyst only reads the ones you add. An organization can connect several developer accounts, one connection per key.
Check a read
An authorized member can ask: “On our iOS app, what is the average review rating by country this quarter?”
Apple only exposes written reviews: star-only ratings are not included, and the average can differ from the App Store rating.
Replace or remove the key
To rotate, create a new key, then in Source connection click Replace key: the apps and their reviews are kept. Then revoke the old key in App Store Connect.
Deleting the connection erases its key, its apps and their imported reviews from Persyst.
