GitHub
Install the Persyst GitHub App and share the required repositories and branches.
GitHub connects through installation of the Persyst GitHub App. There is no personal API key to copy into the form.
Prepare installation
The person connecting GitHub must be able to install or obtain approval for the app on the relevant GitHub account or organization. Choose the repositories you want to authorize for Persyst.
Connect and select repositories
- In Data sources → Add a source, choose GitHub.
- Start the connection and follow GitHub’s installation flow. If Persyst offers a reusable installation, you can link it instead.
- Back in Persyst, open Repositories, add the required repositories and choose branches to follow.
- In Access management, grant repositories and tools to the relevant teams or members.
The GitHub installation settings determine which repositories Persyst can offer. Persyst selection and grants determine which ones each recipient can read.
Follow synchronization
Persyst synchronizes code from the selected branch for search, file reads and Git history. Check repository synchronization status before the first search.
Verification request: “In this GitHub repository, find the file implementing this feature and cite its path.”
Change scope
Use the GitHub installation settings link to change authorized repositories in GitHub. Return to Persyst to add new repositories and assign recipients. Removing a repository from the installation does not erase excerpts already received by assistants.
