Google Play
Connect a Play Console Google account, choose the apps and import the review history.
The connection uses a Google account with access to the apps in the Play Console. There is no API key to generate. Persyst reads reviews and published replies; it replies to no review.
Connect the account
- In Data sources → Add a source, choose the scope, then Google Play.
- Start the connection and authorize the Google account that sees the apps in the Play Console.
- Open Apps, click Add an app and tick the apps whose reviews should be read.
- In Access management, grant the apps and their tools to the relevant teams or members.
Reviews from the last 7 days are imported right away, then refreshed every 6 hours.
Import the full history
Google’s API only returns the last 7 days of reviews. The full history lives in the Play Console review reports. For each app:
- Click Import history next to the app.
- Open the Play Console review reports with the connected Google account, then click Copy Cloud Storage URI. Otherwise: Manage account, then Play app reports and Reviews.
- Paste the address (
gs://pubsite_prod_…) into Persyst and save.
The connected account needs the Download bulk reports permission in the Play Console; a newly added permission can take up to 24 hours to apply. Persyst checks the address before saving it, then reads the full history again every week to catch replies published in the meantime.
Check a read
An authorized member can ask: “On our Android app, how many one- and two-star reviews this month, and what are they about?”
The average rating computed by Persyst covers the imported reviews: it can differ from the Play Store rating, which Google weights differently.
Personal access and maintenance
Google Play is also offered in My connectors for a personal account. The shared source follows the organization’s grants.
An app removed from every scope has its reviews deleted from Persyst. If the Google account loses access to an app in the Play Console, Persyst can no longer read it through this connection.
